Membrane distillation (MD) is an advanced technology that uses hydrophobic microporous membranes and vapor pressure differences for separation. It is particularly suitable for seawater desalination and extraction of volatile components in aqueous solutions. When using this hydrophobic microporous membrane to separate two aqueous solutions of different temperatures, due to the greater water vapor pressure on the high temperature side, water vapor will migrate through the membrane pores from the hot end to the cold end and condense. This mechanism is similar to the conventional evaporation, diffusion and condensation processes, hence the name membrane distillation.
The SCI-NANO membrane distillation component uses PTFE hollow fiber membrane filaments with strong hydrophobicity, high melting point, stable chemical properties and corrosion resistance. It uses the steam pressure difference on both sides of the membrane as the mass transfer driving force to efficiently remove volatile substances in aqueous solutions. Water production and desalination rate data are based on the following standard test conditions: 35000 ppm NaCl, test pressure -85KPa, solution temperature 75℃, condensation temperature 0℃.
