The operation process of membrane distillation uses hydrophobic porous membrane materials as the evaporation interface. The evaporation interface must continue to maintain strong hydrophobicity. Therefore, during the operation process, the membrane material should be kept as free from contamination as possible. To maintain a well-maintained membrane distillation operation, the pretreatment of the feed is one of the very important operations. The feed conditions for membrane distillation are as follows:

Therefore, during the operation process, the membrane material should be kept as free from contamination as possible.
To maintain a well-maintained membrane distillation operation, the pretreatment of the feed is one of the very important operations. The feed conditions for membrane distillation are as follows:
1、Oil content less than 1ppm;
2、Surfactant less than 1ppm;
3、TSS is less than 1mg/L;
4、The hardness of conventional water is lower than 100; the hardness of sodium chloride solution can be lower than 300; when the pH value is lower than 4, the hardness can be lower than 500; considering the concentration multiple, the final concentrated water hardness needs to be lower than 500;
5、No crystallization occurs during operation;
